EnAct Community Action is partnering with the City of Hurricane and group workcamps to provide free home repairs for elderly, disabled, or low-income families on the West Side of Charleston. In order to participate, you much own your home.
Applications to participate are now available and can be obtained by contacting EnAct by phone at 304.414.4475 or in person in their office on the second floor of the Schoenbaum Center. The application deadline is February 12, 2016.
If you or someone you know needs home repairs, please apply for this opportunity. Approximately 432 volunteers will arrive at Stonewall Middle School on July 10 and stay until July 16. During that time, they will work on 72 homes on the West Side.
Volunteers and Donations
Volunteers and donations will also be needed to help support the workcamp groups. Interested volunteers can contact EnAct to provide assistance such as securing ladders, collecting trash, etc.
Donations of toiletry items, baked goods, or monetary contributions are also needed to help with expenses. For any additional information, please call EnAct’s office.
